Responsible Gambling

At w678, responsible gambling is not a disclaimer at the bottom of a page — it is a core commitment built into everything we do. This page covers the tools, resources and guidance available to every player who uses our platform.

18+
Adults Only — Strictly 18 or Older

The w678 platform is accessible to adults aged 18 or older — or the higher minimum required by the applicable operator or licence jurisdiction. Being 18 years old does not make online gambling lawful in all locations. Pakistan's Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 may restrict online gambling. Users are responsible for understanding the laws applicable in their location. This is not legal advice.

Gambling Should Be Entertainment — Nothing More

For millions of people, betting on a PSL fixture, following Pakistan's national cricket team through an ICC tournament, or spinning a few rounds of a favourite slot game is a leisure activity — something done for enjoyment within a clear budget and with full control. That is how gambling should feel for everyone.

w678 recognises that for some individuals, gambling can shift from entertainment into something more problematic. That shift can happen gradually and it does not reflect a character flaw — it is a recognised pattern that requires support, not judgement. Our responsible gambling framework is designed to help players stay in control, recognise early warning signs and access help if they need it.

Every tool on this page — deposit limits, session reminders, self-exclusion — is available to every registered w678 player at any time, without waiting periods that could expose a player to further risk. We will never make these tools difficult to find or use.

Quick Self-Assessment

Honest self-reflection is the first step toward responsible play. Review the questions below — if you answer "yes" to any of them regularly, consider using the tools on this page or contacting w678 support.

Do you spend more money on gambling than you originally planned?
Do you find yourself chasing losses — betting more to try to win back what you lost?
Have you lied to family members or friends about how much or how often you gamble?
Do you gamble when you feel stressed, anxious or low — using it as an emotional outlet?
Have you borrowed money, sold possessions or neglected bills to fund gambling?
Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down or stop gambling?
Has gambling affected your work, studies or personal relationships in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or wherever you are based?
Note: This is a general awareness tool only, not a clinical assessment. If these questions resonate, please use the self-exclusion or limit tools below, or contact our support team at [email protected].

Five Tools to Keep You in Control

Every one of these tools is available in your w678 Account at any time. They are not hidden in tertiary menus — they are accessible from your main account dashboard. Use them proactively, before there is a problem.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum amount you can deposit into your w678 Account per day, per week or per month. Once a limit is active, deposits that would exceed it are declined automatically — no manual discipline required. Limits take effect immediately when set and can be lowered at any time. Increasing a limit is subject to a cooling-off period to prevent impulsive changes.

Loss Limits

Define the maximum amount you are comfortable losing over a set period — daily, weekly or monthly. When your losses reach the defined threshold, further betting is paused for the remainder of that period. This tool is particularly useful for managing risk during high-volume events like PSL playoffs or ICC finals, when it is easy to over-bet in the moment.

Session Time Reminders

Choose how long you want your sessions to last before receiving a reminder notification. When your session time elapses, you receive an alert that prompts you to review your activity and decide consciously whether to continue. Time can pass very quickly during live in-play betting — session reminders keep you anchored to reality.

Cooling-Off Period

If you feel you need a break — after a losing run, a stressful period, or simply to reset — a cooling-off period suspends your ability to bet for a defined time: 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days or longer, as you choose. During a cooling-off period you can still log in to view your balance and transaction history, but placing bets or making new deposits is disabled.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is our most serious intervention tool. When activated, your Account is closed and all betting activity is suspended for a defined period — or permanently, if you choose. Self-exclusion requests submitted to [email protected] are processed as an absolute priority. If you feel that gambling is harming you or someone you know, please use this tool without hesitation. There is no penalty or judgment for doing so.

Activity History

Your full betting and gaming history — deposits, withdrawals, bets placed, outcomes and net position — is available in your Account at all times. Reviewing your real activity history is a powerful way to stay grounded. It prevents the mental distortion of only remembering wins or under-estimating the cumulative cost of regular gambling over time.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling rarely announces itself suddenly. It develops gradually through a series of behavioural and emotional shifts. Recognising these signs early — in yourself or in someone you know — is the most important step toward getting help before the situation escalates.

These signs apply equally whether you are betting on T20 cricket, PSL markets, live casino or any other game. The sport or game type does not determine the risk level — patterns of behaviour do.

If you recognise these patterns: Contact our support team immediately at [email protected] or activate self-exclusion directly from your Account. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
1
Chasing Losses: Placing increasingly large bets to try to recover money already lost, often leading to a cycle of escalating losses.
2
Preoccupation: Spending significant amounts of time thinking about gambling — planning next bets, reliving past wins or calculating how to fund the next session.
3
Financial Distress: Borrowing money, taking loans, selling personal items, or neglecting essential expenses such as rent, utilities or food to fund gambling activity.
4
Secrecy and Dishonesty: Lying to family members, friends or colleagues in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad or elsewhere about the extent or cost of gambling activity.
5
Emotional Gambling: Using gambling to escape stress, anxiety, depression or other difficult emotions rather than as deliberate entertainment.
6
Failed Attempts to Stop: Trying to cut down or stop gambling but finding yourself unable to do so, despite genuine intentions to change.
7
Neglect of Responsibilities: Allowing gambling to interfere with work, education, relationships or other important commitments and obligations.
8
Tolerance Increase: Needing to gamble with progressively higher stakes to achieve the same level of excitement — a pattern analogous to tolerance in other addictive behaviours.

Tips for Keeping Gambling in Its Place

Most of these tips are straightforward — the challenge is applying them consistently, especially when you are caught up in the excitement of a live PSL match or a winning streak in the casino.

Set a Budget First

Decide before you start exactly how much you can afford to lose. Treat it as the cost of entertainment — not an investment with expected returns.

Set a Time Limit

Decide in advance how long each session will last. Use the session timer tool in your Account so the Platform helps you stick to it.

Never Chase Losses

Losses are part of gambling. Accept them as the price of play and do not increase your stakes to recover them — this is how small losses become serious ones.

Take Regular Breaks

Step away from the screen periodically during a session. Fatigue and prolonged play affect judgement and increase the likelihood of impulsive decisions.

Don't Play Emotionally

Avoid gambling when you are stressed, upset, tired or under the influence of alcohol. Emotional states impair the rational decision-making that responsible gambling requires.

Understand the Odds

The platform has a built-in mathematical edge. Over a long enough period, the house wins. Understanding this is essential to framing gambling as entertainment rather than income.

Talk to Someone

If gambling is becoming a source of stress or hiding it from family feels normal, it is time to talk. Sharing concerns with someone you trust is often the most effective first step.

Use the Tools

The limits and controls in your w678 Account are there for a reason. Set them before you need them — not after a problem has developed. Proactive use is always more effective.

Self-Exclusion — Available Right Now

If you feel that your gambling is out of control, or if you simply want to take an extended break, self-exclusion is available immediately. There is no waiting period, no penalty and no negative consequence for requesting it. Your wellbeing matters more to us than your continued play.

To activate self-exclusion, contact w678 support directly at [email protected] with the subject line "Self-Exclusion Request". Include your registered Account email and specify the duration (minimum 6 months recommended for meaningful breaks, or permanent if required). Your Account will be suspended as a priority response — typically within the same support session.

During self-exclusion, you will not receive promotional or marketing communications from w678. Any balance remaining in your Account at the time of exclusion will be held securely and can be processed for withdrawal in accordance with our standard withdrawal and KYC procedures.

Responsible Gambling Support Resources

If you or someone you know needs support with problem gambling, the following types of resources are available in many jurisdictions. w678 does not operate these resources and cannot guarantee their availability in every location — these are general guidance references only.

Problem Gambling Helplines

Many countries and jurisdictions operate free, confidential telephone helplines staffed by trained counsellors who specialise in gambling-related harm. Calls are typically free of charge and confidential. Search for problem gambling helpline services applicable in your jurisdiction.

Support Groups

Peer support groups — including Gamblers Anonymous and similar organisations operating internationally — provide community-based support for individuals affected by problem gambling. Both in-person and online groups are available in many locations.

Counselling Services

Professional counselling — including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) — has a strong evidence base for treating problem gambling. Mental health professionals with experience in addictive behaviour can be found through healthcare providers in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other major cities.

Family Support

The effects of problem gambling extend to families. Support organisations for family members of problem gamblers — such as Gam-Anon internationally — offer guidance, community and practical advice for families navigating this situation.

Online Resources

Organisations such as GamCare, the National Council on Problem Gambling and similar bodies publish comprehensive free resources — self-assessment tools, self-help guides, and directories of professional services — that are accessible internationally via the internet.

Healthcare Providers

If gambling-related problems are affecting your mental or physical health, a general practitioner or mental health professional can refer you to appropriate specialist services. Seeking medical help is always an option and never something to be ashamed of.

Important: w678 does not operate, endorse or formally affiliate with any specific external support organisation. The references above are general guidance only. Availability, quality and access to these services varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstance. Always seek professional advice from qualified healthcare or counselling professionals for personal situations.

Responsible Gambling FAQ

The minimum age to register and use w678 is 18 years old, or the higher minimum required by the applicable operator or licence jurisdiction. Age verification is mandatory — we require government-issued identification (such as a CNIC or passport) before any withdrawal is processed. Where we have reasonable grounds to suspect a user is under the minimum age, the Account is suspended pending verification. Note that meeting the minimum age does not make online gambling lawful in all Pakistani locations — local laws may impose additional restrictions.

Deposit limits are available in your Account settings under the Responsible Gambling section. You can set daily, weekly or monthly limits — once set, deposits exceeding the limit will be automatically declined. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit is subject to a cooling-off period to help prevent impulsive decisions in the heat of a losing run. If you have difficulty locating the settings, contact our support team and we will guide you directly.

Self-exclusion is a formal request to have your Account suspended for a defined period or permanently. To request self-exclusion, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Self-Exclusion Request". Include your registered Account email and the duration you want the exclusion to last. Requests are processed as a priority — typically within the same support interaction. During exclusion, you will not receive marketing communications and your ability to deposit or bet will be suspended. Your balance will be preserved for withdrawal upon verification.

A self-exclusion is a serious intervention and is not reversed during the exclusion period simply on request — this is intentional, to prevent impulsive reinstatements. After the exclusion period has fully elapsed, reinstatement may be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you requested a permanent self-exclusion, reactivation is not available. We strongly encourage anyone considering reactivation to seek guidance from a responsible gambling support organisation first.

w678 does not claim to be licensed or authorised by the Government of Pakistan, the PTA, the State Bank of Pakistan or any Pakistani authority. Pakistan's Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 may restrict online gambling activities. Users are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the laws applicable in their location before using the Platform. This is general information only and does not constitute legal advice. If you are uncertain about the legal position in your jurisdiction, please seek independent legal guidance.

Talking to a family member about a suspected gambling problem is difficult but important. Approach the conversation without judgement, focus on specific behaviours you have noticed rather than making accusations, and make clear that you are concerned and want to help. Organisations such as Gam-Anon offer specific support for family members of problem gamblers. If a family member is registered on w678 and you are concerned about their activity, you may contact our support team. We take third-party welfare concerns seriously and will respond appropriately within the limits of our data protection obligations.
